Resolution 2011!!


Welcome to 2011 U.N.I World!!

It’s the first week of the new year so naturally every media form is harassing you with talk of New Year’s Resolutions so why would I buck the trend when I can just put my 2 cents in.  Some people are into this and some are not.  I for one don’t list resolutions.  I believe we should always be changing and evolving all year round.  That doesn’t mean I don’t agree with resolutions.  Goals and  dreams are always good to have and if it takes ringing in the new year to inspire you then fantastic.  After all, when you think of all the people that haven’t made it to the new year, you just need to look around and be thankful for where you are.

A quick Google search brings up the Top 5 Resolutions reading something like this:

1.  Spending more time with family and friends

2. Getting fit

3. Losing weight

4. Quit smoking

5. Enjoy life more

Do you see the pattern?  The awesome thing happening here is that EVERY one of these can be directly related to health and wellness!  Getting fit can be done in sooooo many ways.  Joining a gym, a group workout, a running group, an organised sport, getting outdoors more. It all works as long as you go and do it!  If you lack motivation, hire a personal trainer for a few sessions to get a jump start.

You can do any of these activities with a friend or family member (resolution 1).  Starting a new activity or fitness program often is a catalyst for other changes.  You get into a certain mode psychologically.  Since you’re exercising you might as well eat better which will help you lose weight (resolution 3) and while you’re at it you know damn well that smoking is no good for you and exercising is much easier when you can breath actual oxygen so you should probably quit that too (resolution 4).  Before you know it, all these changes will have you feeling confident, energetic, maybe even younger.  You’ll be feeling great and enjoying life more (resolution 5).

It all started with getting out of routine and doing something for yourself by getting more fit.  So as you sift through all the crazy pills powders packages and promises this week, remember that it doesn’t have to be complicated and it doesn’t have to cost a lot to make a huge difference.  (Here comes the plug)  Why not call a company that’s been here for 10 yrs steering you in the right direction.  You have everything you need under one roof with U.N.I Training.  Also in January take advantage of no initiation/sign-up/evaluation/ whatever you wanna call it,  fees.   So you pay a little less and still get to take advantage of the best quality fitness team in the city.

Phew, resolutions post done.  That was a long one.
